What to check on a used seamer
- Match the seamer to your panel: seam height, single or double lock, and material gauge.
- Check the forming wheels for grooves, flat spots and bearing play.
- Run it on a sample seam; the lock should be tight with no chatter or wheel marks.
- Check the motor brushes, cord, clutch and battery health on cordless units.
- Make sure guide rollers and hold-downs are complete and adjustable.
- Confirm the first and second stage hand seamers are included for panel ends.
