Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of usedmetalroofingmachines.com/, operated by Used Metal Roofing Machines (UMRM, we, us). By using the site, creating an account or posting a listing you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

1. What the site is

UMRM is a classified advertising platform where sellers list used and new sheet metal, roofing, gutter and HVAC fabrication equipment and buyers contact them. We are not a dealer, broker, auctioneer, escrow agent or payment processor. We are not a party to any sale, we do not take title to equipment, and we do not inspect, appraise or guarantee anything listed. Every transaction is solely between the buyer and the seller.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 and using the site for business purposes. You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for everything done from your account. Give us accurate account information and keep it current. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, post spam, or have been inactive for an extended period, and we may refuse registration at our discretion.

3. Listing rules

  • You must own the equipment or be authorized by the owner to sell it, and you must disclose any lien, loan or lease on it.
  • Describe the machine accurately: make, model, year, condition, hours, included tooling and accessories, known defects, and location. Photos must be of the actual machine for sale.
  • State a real asking price, or mark the listing call for price. Do not post placeholder prices.
  • One listing per machine. Do not repost a listing to move it up the list; edit the existing one.
  • Keep availability current. Mark a machine pending while a sale is in progress and sold when it sells.
  • Keep contact details, external links and promotional text out of the listing body; your company name, location and optional phone show automatically from your profile.
  • Classified ads for services are limited to installers and mechanics serving the metal roofing and sheet metal trade.

Listings are reviewed before publication and may be edited for formatting or category, held for clarification, or declined. We may remove any listing at any time, with or without notice, that we believe breaks these rules, is inaccurate, is stale, or exposes us or users to risk.

4. Prohibited items and conduct

  • Equipment that is stolen, subject to an undisclosed lien, or that you do not have the right to sell.
  • Anything that is not sheet metal, roofing, gutter or HVAC fabrication equipment, tooling or directly related accessories. Vehicles, real estate, consumer goods, weapons and anything illegal are not permitted; trailers may be listed only as part of a machine.
  • Counterfeit tooling, machines with removed or altered serial plates, or machines with safety guards and interlocks deliberately disabled.
  • Listings used to collect deposits, wire transfers or payments for machines the seller does not possess.
  • Scraping, harvesting user contact details, sending unsolicited messages through our forms, posting the same ad from multiple accounts, or interfering with the site’s operation.
  • Content that is defamatory, infringing, obscene or that violates any law.

5. No escrow, payments or shipping

We do not hold funds, offer escrow, process payments, verify funds, or arrange freight. Anyone claiming to provide escrow or payment services on behalf of UMRM is not acting for us. Buyers and sellers agree price, inspection, payment method, title transfer and shipping directly and in writing. We recommend inspecting a machine in person or by a qualified third party, running a lien search on financed equipment and trailers, and paying by a traceable method.

6. Buyer and seller responsibilities

Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, for having good title, for disclosing known defects and encumbrances, and for complying with the laws that apply to the sale. Buyers are responsible for verifying every claim in a listing, inspecting the equipment, confirming it suits their purpose, and understanding that used equipment is sold as-is unless the seller agrees otherwise in writing. Each of you is responsible for your own taxes, permits, insurance and transport.

7. Fees

Listings, classified ads and buyer messages are currently free and we charge no commission. If we introduce paid placement or other fees in the future we will say so clearly before you incur them, and existing free listings will not be charged retroactively.

8. Your content and our license

You keep ownership of the text and photos you post. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to store, display, reproduce, adapt for formatting and distribute that content on the site, in search engine results, in listing feeds and in promotion of the site, for as long as the listing exists and in archived form afterward. You confirm you have the rights needed to grant that license. We may keep sold listings online as a price reference.

9. Copyright notices (DMCA)

If you believe content on the site infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent at with: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the copyrighted work; the URL of the material you want removed; your address, phone number and email; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner. We will remove or disable access to material identified in a valid notice and notify the poster, who may file a counter-notice. We may terminate accounts of repeat infringers.

10. Our content

Guides, equipment and brand descriptions, site design and code are ours or licensed to us. You may read and share links to them; you may not copy them onto another site, scrape listings, or use our name and logo without permission. Manufacturer names and model names belong to their owners and are used only to identify equipment.

11. Disclaimers

The site, its listings and its guides are provided as-is and as-available. We make no warranty about the accuracy of any listing, the condition, title, safety or value of any equipment, the identity or reliability of any user, or the completeness or timeliness of prices and specifications in our guides, which are gathered from public sources that change. Nothing on the site is legal, financial or tax advice. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, UMRM and its owners, staff and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or lost business, arising from your use of the site or any transaction with another user, even if we were told such damages were possible. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site will not exceed one hundred dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

13. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold harmless UMRM and its owners, staff and contractors from claims, losses and expenses, including reasonable attorney fees, arising from your listings, your transactions with other users, your content, or your breach of these terms or the law.

14. Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for breach of these terms or to protect the site and its users. Sections 5, 6, 8 and 10 through 16 survive termination.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the state where the site operator is based and the United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute with us will be brought in the state or federal courts located in that state, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Disputes between buyers and sellers are between those parties.

16. Changes and contact

We may update these terms by posting a new version here with a new effective date; continued use after that date is acceptance. If any provision is found unenforceable the rest remain in effect.
