Sell Your Equipment

Listing a machine here is free, takes about ten minutes, and puts it in front of roofing contractors and sheet metal shops who are searching for exactly that type of equipment. We review every listing before it goes live, relay buyer messages to you by email without publishing your address, and take no commission when it sells.

What a free listing includes

  • A full page for your machine with up to twelve photos, a video link, a spec table, and the price, year, condition, power and location shown at the top.
  • Placement on the matching equipment and brand pages, in search results, and in the latest machines strip on the home page.
  • A contact form on the listing that sends buyer messages to your email with the buyer’s reply-to address, so you answer directly.
  • A stock number and a structured data listing so search engines show your price and availability.
  • The ability to edit, mark pending, mark sold or remove the listing from your account at any time.

Classified ads for smaller items, equipment wanted, and installer or mechanic services are also free and use a shorter form. If you are a dealer with regular inventory, contact us about bulk listing.

How review works

When you submit a listing it is held as pending until a person on our side reads it. We check that the machine is sheet metal, roofing, gutter or HVAC fabrication equipment, that the photos show the actual machine, that the price is a real number or marked call for price, and that the description does not contain contact details or links that belong in your profile. Most listings are approved within one business day. If something needs fixing we email you with what to change rather than rejecting it. After your first two listings are approved, later listings from the same account publish immediately and are checked afterward.

Photos that sell machines

Buyers decide whether to call based on photos, and the photos they want are the ones that show wear. Clean the machine, pull it into daylight, and take these:

  • Both sides and both ends of the whole machine, including the trailer if it has one.
  • The serial plate and the hour meter, legible.
  • Covers open: forming rollers, drive rollers, chains and the shear blades.
  • The controller screen powered on, and the power pack or motor nameplate.
  • Every profile set, rib roller set, shear die and accessory you are including, laid out together.
  • A finished panel or gutter run from the machine, and a short video of it running if you can host one.
  • Any damage, rust or missing parts. A buyer who finds it on inspection after you hid it will walk away; one who saw it in the photos has already priced it in.

Upload JPG, PNG or WebP files up to 8 MB each. Phone photos are fine; blurry, dark or sideways photos are not.

How to price it

Start from what the manufacturer charges today for an equivalent new machine with the same profiles, controller and trailer, because that is what the buyer is comparing against. Then subtract the warranty they will not get, the freight they will pay, and anything worn or missing. List every included item with a value; a trailer, a second profile or an automatic controller can each be worth ten to twenty thousand dollars at new prices and buyers will pay for them if they can see them. Our guides on roll former prices and gutter machine prices list verified new and used figures, and sold listings on this site stay visible so you can see what comparable machines went for.

Choose a fixed price, a price with OBO, or call for price. Listings with a real price get more inquiries and can be financed, since lenders need a written quote. If you are flexible, a fair price with OBO beats a high price nobody calls on.

Shipping and pickup

Say in the listing whether the machine can be picked up, shipped, or both, and whether the buyer can inspect it under power. A trailer-mounted roll former tows behind a three-quarter-ton or one-ton truck at 4,600 to 6,500 lb; a gutter machine at 1,000 to 1,400 lb goes crated on an LTL pallet; a long folder or in-plant line usually needs a rigger and a flatbed. Give the buyer the machine’s weight and dimensions so they can quote freight before they make an offer. Buyers arrange and pay for shipping unless you agree otherwise; we do not handle freight, payment or escrow, so settle those terms in writing between you.

When it sells

Mark the listing sold from your account. It stays published with a sold banner, which keeps your page in search results, gives other sellers a price reference, and stops new inquiries. You can relist it if the sale falls through.
